What's going on and thank you for visiting! My name is Tim DeMaio, and the story behind Berserker Built is one of resilience, transformation, and purpose. After dedicating ten years to serving in the Navy, followed by several years as an overseas contractor, I found myself facing a battle far from the battlefield, a fight against the invisible wounds of multiple Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs), Post Traumatic Stress Injury (PTSI), and other enduring traumas. Severe migraines, relentless tinnitus, debilitating spinal and muscular trauma and the struggle to mask my emotions became a daily reality.

For years, I sought answers through NICoE at Walter Reed and treatments with brain specialists around the globe. Yet, despite countless treatments and prescriptions, the underlying challenges persisted. Feeling disconnected and burdened, I knew I had to find a way to reclaim my life and redefine my purpose.

Berserker Built was born from this journey, a venture that merges my passion for craftsmanship with my commitment to giving back to those who have served. Through creating functional art from skateboards, I’ve found both personal healing and a meaningful way to support others. Each skateboard sold contributes to organizations that provide life changing care and resources to veterans and first responders facing PTSD, TBIs, Struggles with suicide and other traumas and challenges.

Beyond Berserker Built, I’ve also had the privilege of working as a technical advisor and actor in the short film The Silence of War. This project brings attention to the struggles many veterans face when returning home, including PTSD, guilt, and the challenge of finding purpose after service. It’s my hope that through storytelling and advocacy, we can inspire change and improve support for those who have given so much.

Berserker Built is more than a business, it’s a mission to make a difference, one skateboard and one life at a time. It’s a tribute to the resilience of the warrior spirit and the power of community to heal and uplift.
